Citlali Souloumiac
Committed, talented, the young Franco-Mexican Citlali Souloumiac lives at the intersection of her two identities, French by birth, Mexican by origin. From this often difficult experience which she herself defines as an “in-between“, a “papier maché identity“, she draws a powerful affirmation of the double identity which she translates in her creations.
This identity under construction, confronted with the noise and fury of the current era, is what Tienda Esquipulas wanted to highlight by commissioning from Citlali Souloumiac three scenes of daily life in Mexico, seen through his identity , its convictions and its commitments.

Each of the 3 scenes was available in nicho, poster and postcard. For the niches (“nichos”), the Mexican artisan hand-painted the decor imagined by Citlali Souloumiac which surrounds each of the illustrations.

Tacos : ¡ engordan y que !
“Tacos make you fat: so what?” Resolutely feminist, the drawing claims the appropriation of the female body and defends the freedom to choose one’s body against widespread social injunction.
